Supply frequency determines motor speed, and motor speed determines the pump flow, head and power draw. A pump rated at 50 Hz will not deliver its stated duty on a 60 Hz supply — and vice versa.

Where 60 Hz applies

60 Hz is the standard supply frequency in North America, Saudi Arabia, much of Latin America, and parts of the Caribbean and Pacific. Saudi Arabia is one of the few countries outside the Americas on 60 Hz.
