A strainer is cheap insurance. It captures scale, weld slag, sand and pipe debris before that material reaches an impeller, a meter or a control valve — components that cost far more to repair than a strainer costs to fit and clean.

The Niagara range

The range includes Y-type and basket strainer configurations in a range of sizes.

Applications

Pump suction protection, upstream of water meters and control valves, irrigation systems drawing from open sources, and industrial process lines.

Selecting a strainer

Choose mesh size according to the particles you need to capture and the pressure drop you can accept — a finer screen catches more but blocks faster. Allow clearance for screen removal and plan a cleaning interval.
