When the water sits below ground, the pump goes to the water. Submersible pumps operate fully immersed, which removes the suction-lift limit that constrains surface-mounted pumps and lets them draw from depths a centrifugal pump at ground level simply cannot reach. Running submerged also keeps the motor cool and the unit quiet.
The Niagara submersible range
The range spans clean-water borehole duty through to solids-handling wastewater: the NBS et NBZ series for deep-well and borehole extraction, the WQ, WQ-T-QG et SWQ series for drainage, sewage and industrial wastewater, and the QDX, NX et NCM series for domestic and light commercial transfer.

Selecting a submersible pump
Start with the bore diameter, then the duty point — required flow (m³/h) against total head (m), including friction losses in the rising main. Water quality matters too: solids content, sand and abrasives all affect material selection and expected service life.
50 Hz and 60 Hz
Models are available in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz variants. Frequency changes the duty point, so confirm the correct variant for your supply before ordering.
